Jörg Kreutziger, “Ambivalent”
Last week I met German artist Jörg Kreutziger for a glass of wine at the Marietta Bar in Prenzlauer Berg. I had seen his website and had instantly become interested in the person behind the colourful illustrations. It was kind of surprising to find out that Jörg (or Jokke to his friends) is actually a real born and bred Berliner. This guy has much more to him than ‘only’ his artwork: In our interview he talks about his hometown Berlin, his becoming-an-artist story and why having courage is so important for creating art.
In his upcoming exhibition at Artconnect Berlin, Jose Romussi wants to make it clear that there is more to him than his famous, gracious ballerinas. The vernissage at Artconnect’s headquarters will display a wide variety of his artworks. All pieces follow his delicate, precise and colourful style and – no matter the media– all artworks are equally seductive: videos, collages, embroidered pictures, and calligraphy written with colored pins. Get ready to discover Jose Romussi’s other faces and choose your favourite side of him.

Auctioneer Fares Al-Hassan sells Tulipa by Edvard Koinberg, Photographer: Jörg Kandziora
We all felt it; this Tuesday night would become a very special one. Glowing in the dark, the architecturally outstanding building of the Berlinische Gallerie invited us into its spacious rooms. Many well-dressed Berliners made themselves on their way to the Gallerie to take part when once again, the Kunstmagazin called for a charity art auction supporting the Stiftung Telefonseelsorge Berlin.
For this Networking Brunch we would like to invite all the fashionistas and Berlin fashion enthusiasts to our headquarters. In regards to fashion, Florian Ellsaesser from Front Row Society knows what he is talking about. At Front Row Society, the customers and the designers are equally integrated in the process of creating outstanding fashion. From all over the world, designers work on their drafts, sending these in as well as deciding over what piece of art should be produced next…

The weekend is already drawing us into its spell. Today and the next couple of days will make decision-making into a real chore. The dilemma of deciding where to go starts on thursday: Either see Flying Lotus at the Gretchen Club, go to the collectors Talk of KUNSTMAGAZIN, enjoy the scope session at Panke or watch the show Andere Bewegung by Tom at the FOOD GALLERY @ZMF. The events we recommend, continue being fabulous as the weekend comes closer: On saturday at 7pm Chop it! invites us to the WerkStadt Kulturverein, where live installations call you to “dive into meditation”. So go ahead and decide: We’re wishing you the best time!

Last saturday was no unusual day in Berlin. Loads of vibrant, interesting events only waited to be explored. One event, however, stuck out from the mass. Neukölln’s heart, the Boddingstraße, was thriving with excitement. It was the third day of Artconnect presenting Florian Reischauer’s project “Pieces of Berlin”. Artfully draped around the walls of Artconnects headquarters, charismatic pictures of real Berliners drew on crowds of art and Berlin loving friends. Whilst enjoying the most scrumptious handmade Pizza and sipping on refreshing beer, one moved from one picture to another, grinning with amusement over the photos and the touchingly written character descriptions that came with each picture.
